The San Antonio Spurs have employed WNBA star Becky Hammon as a collaborator mentor.
The Spurs made the declaration Tuesday. Hammon arrangements to resign from the San Antonio Stars after this season. She joins South Carolina collaborator Lisa Boyer, who served as a volunteer on John Lucas’ staff in Cleveland in 2001-02, as ladies to mentor in the NBA.
Hammon invested sooner or later around the Spurs amid last season’s rush to the title, and mentor Gregg Popovich says she made a solid impression. Popovich says he’s “sure her b-ball IQ, hard working attitude and interpersonal aptitudes will be an incredible profit to the Spurs.”
It’s the most recent trailblazing move for the Spurs, who enlisted European instructing legend Ettore Messina to join Popovich’s staff prior this late spring.
