Gov. Bobby Jindal announced Wednesday on Twitter that, as expected, he is running for president.
The Louisiana governor, the 13th Republican to officially enter the race, has spent months traveling across the country to build support for his campaign.

Jindal will kick off his campaign at an event later Wednesday afternoon in New Orleans.
Jindal, a policy wonk, has already created a conservative policy group, America Next, to release his positions on energy, health care, foreign policy and other issues.
