At a positive point, the Boston Celtics are going to have to give up relying so an awful lot on Kyrie Irving. Last night, letting Irving take over the game labored out fine. During an overtime Christmas Day classic, the Celtics managed to out survive a feisty Philadelphia 76ers crew 121-114 thanks to the first forty point, ten-rebound performance of Irving’s career. It used to be Irving’s first-rate recreation of the season, but he knows as nicely as every body that it’s going to take a team effort if the Celtics want to reach their potential.
When Irving is on like he was once yesterday, it appears like he won’t let the Celtics lose just thru sheer force of will. Irving set the tone for the sport via scoring 16 of his 40 points in the first quarter and then closed out rules with a ridiculous jumper that tied the game. He saved his high-quality for overtime, where he helped the Celtics storm back from a five-point deficit with back-to-back three-pointers that greatly surprised the Sixers. Before the game, Irving instructed his teammates that on account that his extended household was in attendance, he was going to be “acting up” throughout the recreation and he wasn’t kidding.
